The week(end) Review I
Hola avid reader.
First, a confession. I am staying home from work today. It involves much subterfuge and only a nanobit of guilt.
I intend to bake a peach pie, go to the library, and hang with my girlies. I predict it will be fabulous.
Secondly, I have to tell you that the weekend was a very good one. I took My Tween for some back to school shopping that was 99% painless! Hooray for painless shopping with easily irritated pre-teen! She also recieved a hair cut from the genius that is RAY at the Gemini Salon in Santa Fe. I encourage ALL avid readers in the Land of Enchantment to try and get an appointment with this man at your earliest convenience, because he is completely and totally insane with talent! Be forewarned, he is booked about three months out, so if at all possible, plan ahead. After My Tween walked out of there feeling all flippy and sleek and fabulous, we took Ray to lunch and had a wonderful time.
Thirdly, did cave in and finally buy the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyers. (Vampires). Was skeptical, in a hoity toity surely I have read better books than these, kind of way, only to find myself totally sucked in and unable to cease reading. Get it? SUCKED IN? hahahaha I crack me up….
I finished Twilight last night at 1 am. Am going to the library to get the other books. Will let you know if I still love them when they have been sufficiently devoured. Get it? DEVOURED? (Ok ok I’ll stop).
hee hee hee
Let’s see. Where was I? Fourthly.
Am going to run a “Something” spot, weekly. This week is Something Beautiful.
I found this beautiful mobile on Etsy. I love the retro chic coolness. And I have a thing for birds……
Avid reader, I have so much more to share, but snuggly children beckon.
Aw. Snuggly children are nearly irresistable. I had to check out this post due to the Twilight tag. My almost 12 year old read every one of these books at least 3 times, and I must admit I have read them all too. I do get sucked in as well, although I don’t love them nearly as much as my daughter does. Your description of your daughter as “easily irritated preteen” made me laugh, because I have one of my own. My poor child started menstruating at 9 with all the fun and raging hormones that go along with it.
Your day sounded heavenly; I hope it was. And that mobile is gorgeous! I love window shopping at Etsy. Someday I hope to have enough spare change to indulge a bit.
