Musings
Something interesting happened to me the other day, in which I was sitting with someone very dear, and he began to recount some of the most precious moments in my life. It happened almost quietly at first, the subtle “remember when” and before I knew it I was in tears. You remember? Really? It wasn’t all just some dream that I had, some 15 odd years ago? Because I usually feel like the only one who remembers….
I don’t know where to go, with this new-found information, that I am not the only one who remembers. It’s disquieting, somehow. Perhaps I should just accept it as one of those gifts, a random blessing, and leave it at that. I do think, however, that this quote applies quite succinctly when relating the past to the present….
“What you need to know about the past is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment. And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new. Right now.”
